IBS, Colitis, Crones. Something else?

Hey Everyone!

For the past 3 months, everyday I’ve been having HORRIBLE diarrhea, along with constant pain in the stomach/large intestine area.
The diarrhea is completely water, nothing solid at all; No chucks.. nothing!
I went and saw a GI doctor and he ordered a TON of tests on me, including bloodwork. I have a Colonoscopy scheduled 3 weeks from now.
He called me up yesterday saying that the blood results don’t typically follow someone who has Colitis (which my father has) or Crones and that he suspects it to be IBS. (But is still going to do all the test anyways)

Now I’ve been looking around on the internet at IBS symptoms, information about it.. etc.
One thing that sort of caught me off guard is that it says that Weight Loss ISN’T a symotom of IBS.

In the past 3 months, I’ve been eating 3900/4200 calories per day (I kid you not!) and I’ve lost around 20-25lbs. (I’m a 23 year, 6’4, Female) I’m starting to look anorexic.

Now i’m completely confused about what on earth is going on with my body.
Could I possibly have Colitis or Crones and just not have the bloodwork backing it up? Is bloodwork THAT precise that it can tell you if you have it or not before them going “up” there and looking?
Could weight loss be a sign of IBS?

Anyone have any advice, experiences or ANYTHING that could help me?
I’m going to the washroom with this horrible diarrhea about 8-12 times a day and I just am so confused at what it could be now.

Thanks everyone! I look forward to hearing from you all!

my doctor told me that i have IBS to. and i am goin to see a gastroentorologist in 2 days. apparently IBS doesnt show up in bloodtests at all. and apparently if it was Colitis or Chrones disease I had, it definitely would show up in my bloods. im not sure whether thats reliable or not, I never thought about it not being reliable, but thats just what my doctor said.
my symptoms are different to yours though, and thats what i just dont understand. anywhere i look on the internet, no one has the same symptoms as me. i have a reeealy noisy, gurgley, watery sound coming from my stomach and intestines. i do have pain though and urges to go to the toilet or pass wind but then nothing comes, but its not constipation. sorry this sound likes it all about me :p but i just dont understand how we can BOTH have IBS :/

ive read that diarrhea IS a symptoms of IBS. and because youve have no other serious issues over the last 3 months and cos its not showing up in your bloods, you more than likely do have it. id say the only reason you’ve lost so much weight isnt a factor that you have Colitis or Chrons.. its probably a result of the diarrhea you’ve got because of the IBS.

do you feel that IBS is ruining your life though? cos its ruining mine and i feel so angry at myself because i have it. just know there are other people suffering to.
    i hope this helps :]

I have Ibs, the constipation kind.

Im not sure if weighloss as drastic as yours is a symptom of it.

Have you been tested for food poisoning? Some food poisonings can last for weeks.

I had a colonoscopy, too and they are really useful and that is your best bet right now is try to be patient until that happens.

If you are seeing a normal, family doctor, now is the time to change to a gastro Dr who will be an expert in this area.
